Volunteer Opportunities

Much of The Branch’s work, is done with the support, help & initiative of volunteers.

We have many volunteer roles available at different times, but here is a list of the current opportunities available:

We are looking for a man who would love to help at Melody Dads, a monthly group for Dads & their kids.

A group run on the third Saturday of each month, for dads to share their experiences and have fun together. We place a high value on male carers and aim to support them in their important role. We provide a space where men can build friendships among those with similar aged kids. Kids’ ages range from 0-10, but no limit is imposed. There are toys suitable for younger children, and for the older children, we have youth club toys available to play with. Elevenses can be ordered and bought to consume with the free drink – including bacon, sausage, egg butties or toasted tea-cakes, or you could have the biscuits provided.

Tasks include:

  • setting up the room with toys
  • signing in, and welcoming dads & their kids
  • talking to families throughout the session
  • ordering sandwiches from the local shop
  • clearing & clearing at the end of the session

If you are friendly and encouraging and would like to be part of the Melody Dads team, we would love to hear from you.

Loving our Neighbours - Team Member

NO SET TIMES

Loving our Neighbours is a group of volunteers providing practical support to people in the community – Practical Support | The Branch

We have a large team of community volunteers, who are all connected in a Whatsapp group ‘Loving our Neighbours’.  When we get requests for practical help, out in the community (eg emergency food shops, prescription collections, garden/house cleans, clothes/furniture deliveries), we pop it in the whatsapp group, and if you can help, you reply, and if you can’t, you just ignore it.

Each of our volunteers is highly valued and appreciated.  We understand that The Branch could not have the same community impact, without the time, love and energy of each volunteer.

Volunteers get assigned a mentor/supervisor to support, help and train where necessary. We have many experiences of individuals growing in confidence and skills and then managing to get full time employment elsewhere.  We have also seen volunteers help shape the work of The Branch with the skills, ideas, gifts, inspiration & talents they bring.

If you would like to volunteer, please fill in the form below and we will contact you to start the recruitment process & if you need some inspiration as to why, just take a look at the video below…..
