Volunteer Opportunities
Much of The Branch’s work, is done with the support, help & initiative of volunteers.
We have many volunteer roles available at different times, but here is a list of the current opportunities available. If you are interested in any, please complete the contact form below and one of the team will be in touch.
Computer Corner Team Member (Digital Hub)
Monday 10:15-12:00
Join us for Computer Corner, a weekly drop-in session where we assist individuals in using laptops for: internet exploration, form filling, learning computer skills, and job applications.
You’ll help set up laptops at the start of the session and then provide one-on-one support to participants, guiding them in improving their digital skills. Strong listening skills and the ability to explain technical solutions clearly are essential, even if you can’t resolve every issue.
We have 4 laptops available, and some participants may bring their own devices such as phones and tablets.
Luncheon Club - Team member
Mondays 11am – 2pm
Lunch Club is a drop-in lunchtime session for anyone in the community to come & enjoy a two course meal in good company Luncheon Club | The Branch
You would be part of a team who prepare & cook a two course meal for around 50 people. The main responsibility for this position, is washing up, drying up and putting away. And assisting where needed with the preparation.
Kitchen Team Member - Baby & Twins Groups
Kitchen Team Member – Baby & Twins Groups
Fridays, 9am – 12pm
Baby group (parent & baby group for pre-crawlers). Provides a quality space to allow time for parents to enjoy their baby, make new friends & provide mutual support (Melody Makers Baby | The Branch)
Twins group (stay & play group for families with twins, triplets or more!). Toys, singing, toast & mutual support for parents (Jubilee Twins & More | The Branch)
We are looking for a volunteer to join the team! You would be responsible for helping to set up the kitchen ready for refreshment time, variety of jobs including toasting, buttering, making drinks & serving, & helping with clearing up at the end.
Melody Makers - Kitchen Team Member
TUESDAYS AND/OR THURSDAYS, 9am – 12.15pm
Melody Makers is a popular parent and toddler group (Melody Makers | The Branch)
You would be responsible for helping to set up the kitchen ready for refreshment time, variety of jobs including toasting, buttering, making drinks & serving, & helping with clearing up at the end.
Loving our Neighbours - Team Member
NO SET TIMES
Loving our Neighbours is a group of volunteers providing practical support to people in the community – Practical Support | The Branch
We have a large team of community volunteers, who are all connected in a Whatsapp group ‘Loving our Neighbours’. When we get requests for practical help, out in the community (eg emergency food shops, prescription collections, garden/house cleans, clothes/furniture deliveries), we pop it in the whatsapp group, and if you can help, you reply, and if you can’t, you just ignore it.
Each of our volunteers is highly valued and appreciated. We understand that The Branch could not have the same community impact, without the time, love and energy of each volunteer.
Volunteers get assigned a mentor/supervisor to support, help and train where necessary. We have many experiences of individuals growing in confidence and skills and then managing to get full time employment elsewhere. We have also seen volunteers help shape the work of The Branch with the skills, ideas, gifts, inspiration & talents they bring.
